A good product but not affordable to continue use

Allergic Reaction I only used this product twice before having to stop. I had a major allergic reaction and had to see my GP. My face was itchy, burning and covered in hives and rash. Currently completing prednisone and using a steroid cream on my face and neck to calm the reaction.

Great for Sensitive Skin I suddenly developed very sensitive and red skin on my neck first and then face. My wonderful Dermalogica Girls here in Wanganui firstly gave my several samples of this to try along with the moisturiser. Used it twice daily and they topped me up a little pot to make sure I wasn't going to react. It works wonders and my regular serum as I cannot use Powerbright or biolumin-c products at the moment. Dermalogica staff certainly know their products.

Nothing Compares 2 U The Ultracalming Serum Concentrate is a staple in my 'skincare wardrobe', and I use it every day - morning and night. I find it particularly useful in the winter months, but as I get older I find that I need it year round. It does a great job of keeping redness and flakiness at bay, and I always have glowier skin when I'm using this one.(I know this because I went a week without it, and noticed a big difference in the over all health of my skin!).The other week, I had a skin needling session at my local clinic, and was left with bright red skin that felt like it was sunburnt (this is a normal reaction), and the Ultracalming Serum Concentrate really helped to bring that feeling down. The redness subsided within a couple of days, and I feel like this serum really helped in repairing the skin faster than if I hadn't been using it.Would recommend this little miracle to anyone with a finicky skin like mine :)

My Routine Staple I’ve been using this serum for at least six years, and it has become a must have in my morning and evening routine now.
Originally I started off using it just through the cooler winter months in New Zealand, but with age, I’ve found that I need the support from this serum year round.
My (39 year old) skin is generally reactive and finicky - so on the sensitive side, and without this serum, it ends up flushed, irritated and lacks hydration, so it really is the base of anything else that goes on afterward for me. I find that USC fixes any redness and flakiness right up, and leaves me with happy healthy skin.I would recommend this product to people who are looking for a solution for similar issues as mine, and can imagine that it will be a life saver going into perimenopause. I can’t imagine my skin routine without this serum in it, so please keep creating it Dermalogica!

My Everything I've been using the Ultracalming Serum Concentrate for years now - first starting out just over the winter months, but now I use it all year round. Recently I decided that I wanted to try something new, so I went without for about three months, and really noticed a difference in my skin. I used up the other product, and was so happy to have this serum back in my life again. I can't imagine I'll stray again! For reference, my skin is combination / dehydrated and reactive to some products, so I do need to be careful with what I put on my face. I am also almost 40, so the signs of aging are settling in. I notice that when I use this serum, not only does my skin get it's glow back and look juicy and fresh, it also is much less red in the mornings. It also really helps with those pesky little flakey patches that arrive in the winter months. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with any of the above issues, and people who are looking to help their skin to become healthier and happier. - Also, plays well under makeup and layers well with other skincare including oils.

Didn’t help my sensitivity Unfortunately this product wasn’t a hit for me. I often get quite red, sensitive cheeks and bought this hoping it would help. It didn’t make the redness any worse, but also didn’t improve it or feel soothing. It separates a lot in the bottle too. I’ve had this for a number of months now and it remains largely unused.

It really helps to calm my skin down when it's reacting to the weather, but also is just a great all rounder for moisture and the general health of my skin.I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is suffering through the winter months as it is really healing for the skin barrier. Never without this gem! For reference, I have quite sensitive skin that is particularly reactive to the colder weather in New Zealand. While my skin is combination, it still has a tendency to get dehydrated easily, so it's a real balancing act, I'll tell you that much for free! I used to use the Ultracalming Serum Concentrate just during the winter months to get me through without flakes, but as I age, I have found that I can't be without this absolute gem and life saver! It keeps my skin calm and flake free. I still get a little bit of redness if I haven't been careful the day before, but that goes quickly when I use this product.The texture is light enough that I can use it under my sun protection without a worry of it getting too greasy. It smells comforting, and that also doesn't irritate my skin, which is so great! Highly suggest checking this serum out - especially if like me you get flakey over the winter months.

Can't Live Without! My skin is reasonably sensitive, and as I get older I have noticed that it seems to be getting a little more fragile, so this is a must have for me!It is really lightweight and helps to keep my skin soothed, and more comfortable - especially during the cooler months.I would recommend this wonder product to anyone with a compromised skin barrier, that is in need of a little TLC.
